One-player game with weapons and dangerous enemies
SSSnaker is a free game for one player. The object is to control a snake that is being attacked by an array of weird creatures. As you play, you will earn new weapons for your gun-toting snake, but you can also expect to meet new and more dangerous enemies, including bosses.
SSSnaker shares the basic dynamics of worm and snake games like Worms Zone. However, it combines this element with the bullet hell aspect of games like Space Shooter: Cosmic Starship, creating a novel mix in which your snake keeps on firing.
A snake with guns
SSSnaker puts the player in control of a snake whose body is made out of segments, each segment bearing a cannon. You will be placed on a small playing field where various monsters appear. Maneuver the snake while its guns automatically fire at your enemies. Killing monsters earns you more segments for your snake.
Boost your firepower
When you finish a level, you'll be given the option to choose new skills. They come in a wide variety. For example, Fire Line will cause streaks of flame to appear from your guns. More is Better will boost your attack stats, whereas Double Shot allows one segment to shoot twice at a time.
A sense of humor
One thing that stands out about SSSnaker is its sense of humor. The cartoon monsters are all well-designed, while the comical "ouch" and "ugh" noises they make when killed will add to the humor. The music fits the mood.
Levels look similar
SSSnaker suffers from some repetitive level designs, and after you get enough guns, shooting enemies becomes very easy. Only the bosses pose any real challenge. That said, the game is appropriate for children and adults alike and should offer some free fun.
